Geology
Located within an easterly dipping inlier of Rangal Coal Measures of
Late Permian age. Two coal seams, the Leichhardt and Vermont
coalesce in the northern part of the area to form the 10m thick Burton
seam which dips at 20 to 22 degrees to the east-northeast.
Mining Method Open cut truck and shovel terrace mining to a planned maximum
highwall depth of 120m.

35 km to the Mallawa Siding on the Goonyella Rail system, which is
some 169km from the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal at Hay Point.
Preparation plant Heavy medium cyclones, spirals and flotation.
Product Coals Medium volatile, hard-coking, semi-hard coking and thermal coals.
Comments
Future development potential exists to the south (Plumtree, Wallanbah and Broadmeadow areas) and east (Kerlong area).
