Production from Hilton began in 1987, however the ore is processed at Mount Isa and production figures are included in those from the

Mount Isa Silver-Lead-Zinc Mine.

The Hilton orebodies occur in the same rock-type as Mount Isa but are more faulted, jointed and cross-cut by intrusive dykes.
