A Summary of Major Mineral Resources, Mines and Projects, 2nd Edition |
Comments |
This is the main deposit of the seven deposit making up the Roseby Copper Project of Universal Resources. Blackard is the largest |
deposit and is likely to be the first deposit to be mined in any development. |
The stratabound oxide ore contains native copper, copper in clays and micas, chalcocite and cuprite. The deposit is the result of |
weathering of quartz-biotite-scapolite calc silcate containing sulphides (mainly bornite and chalcopyrite). |
The seven deposits occur within a 20 km linear zone of anomalous bedrock copper geochemistry. Copper grades are remarkably uniform |
throughout the deposits, commonly in the range 0.4 to 1.2% copper. Copper nuggets occur deeper in the weathering profile. |
